Colts sign WR at Lexington combine |
The Augusta Colts are proud to announce their first Pro Indoor Football Combine signing, (from the Lexington SC tryout, held on Saturday, June 13, 2009). A 5’10”, 182 lb, 24 year old wide receiver, Julius “Juice” Hunter impressed the Colts staff with both his athletic skills and his personal character. A native of Mableton, GA., Hunter is a graduate of Wren H.S. and The Citadel. Hunter also currently serves as the JV Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach at Porter Gaud (Prep) School in Charleston, SC.
The Augusta Colts will host their next Pro Indoor Football Combine (tryouts) this coming Saturday, (June 27, 2009) at the Family Y in Athens, GA. Registration is at 11 am. Current Augusta Colts roster players are invited to assist or participate at no charge. Players who had tried out at the Lexington, SC combine (on June 13) are free to attempt to improve on their performance by trying out again in Athens at a greatly reduced fee (deigned solely to cover your registration & insurance). Colts sign former Clemson Track star |
The Augusta Colts are proud to announce the signing of DB Mickey Sheats. Another 100% pure athlete to add to the Colts’ growing stable of young speedsters, Mickey Sheats has a realistic chance of starting at defensive back. He is also projected to see a lot of time as a wide receiver, kick returner, and as a mobile, strong-armed backup quarterback. The 23 year old is listed at 6’0”, 173 lbs, and attended Cedar Shoals, H.S. (Athens, GA.) before entering Clemson University on a track scholarship (as a sprinter, long jump & triple jumper).

Colts waive WR Percy Croffie |
The Augusta Colts Pro Indoor Football Club regrets to announce that WR Percy Croffie (5’11”, 170 lbs, Univ. of Georgia) has requested waivers for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release. It is the understanding of the Augusta Colts that Croffie has made a personal decision to pursue a career interest outside of professional football. The Augusta Colts family wishes him God’s fullest measure of success in his new venture.
